Meyer, Narancich Named Big West Setter And Freshman Of the Week, Respectively

Zayna Meyer collects her fourth Big West Setter of the Week honor, while Livi Narancich earns her first-ever Freshman of the Week award
IRVINE, Calif. – Long Beach State's Zayna Meyer and Livi Narancich each earned Big West Weekly awards this week. Meyer was named Big West Setter of the Week for the fourth time this season, while Narancich collected Big West Freshman of the Week honors for the first time in her career.
Meyer, a redshirt sophomore setter, led Long Beach State to a pair of sweeps over CSUN and Cal State Bakersfield last week as the Beach extended their winning streak to eight. Meyer was solid as she averaged 10.33 assists per set while piloting LBSU to a .349 attack percentage. In addition, Meyer contributed on all sides of the ball finishing the weekend with 1.33 kills per set, while hitting .412 (8-1-17), and 1.83 digs per set.
The Wheaton, Ill., native kicked off the week with 29 assists, five digs, three kills, and two aces in a 3-0 win over CSUN. The next day, Meyer recorded 33 assists, six digs, five kills, and a .625 clip (5-0-8) in the Beach's sweep over Cal State Bakersfield.
Narancich made her collegiate debut earning a pair of starts last weekend. She made the most of her time on the court as she hitter averaged 2.83 kills per set on a .484 attack percentage (17-2-31). She also recorded 1.00 digs per set and 0.33 blocks per set.
The redshirt freshman outside hitter started the week with nine kills on a .390 attack percentage (9-2-18) against CSUN. Additionally, Narancich posted six digs and one block in the match. The next day, she led the Beach to a 3-0 sweep of Cal State Bakersfield as she hit .615 (8-0-13) with eight kills and one block.
