Marcus Tsohonis Named Big West Player of the Week

Tsohonis averaged 26 points per game while leading Long Beach State to a win at Michigan.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Senior Marcus Tsohonis was named the Big West Player of the Week after two outstanding performances against the national elite in San Diego State and Michigan.
Leading Long Beach State to an iconic win at Michigan, Tsohonis scored 35 points in his second 30+ outing at the Beach while adding a career-high seven rounds, three assists and two steals in the win.
The victory was the 13th win over a power conference program under Dan Monson, the sixth win over a Big Ten opponent for Long Beach State and the first ever road win against a Big Ten foe in program history.
Earlier in the week, Tsohonis scored 17 points against the 2022-23 national finalists, San Diego State in another road contest. Overall, Tsohonis averaged 26 points per game over the two contests.
Long Beach State is in the midst of the Gulf Coast Showcase, and will play two more games in Estero, Florida this week before traveling to Montana State to close out an eight-game road swing to start the season. The Beach hosts their home opener on December 2, welcoming Sacramento State to the Walter Pyramid.
