Zayna Meyer Named Big West Setter Of The Week For The Third Time This Season

Meyer earned the honors after leading Long Beach State to a pair of sweeps last week over UC Irvine and Cal State Fullerton
IRVINE, Calif. – For the third time this season, and twice in as many weeks, Long Beach State's Zayna Meyer was named Big West Setter of the Week by the conference office. In her career, Meyer has earned the wared seven times.
Meyer was a catalyst in Long Beach State's sweeps over UC Irvine and Cal State Fullerton last week as she piloted the Beach to a .358 attack percentage. She contributed on all sides of the ball with 10.83 assists per set, 2.83 digs per set, and 1.33 kills per set, while hitting .535 (8-2-17).
The redshirt sophomore setter started rivalry week with 35 assists, nine digs, three kills, and two aces as Long Beach State hit .345 in a road sweep against the Anteaters.
Meyer continued her efficiency against the Titans on Saturday. She recorded 30 assists, eight digs, five kills, and two blocks, while hitting .444 (5-1-9). As a team, LBSU hit .372 against Cal State Fullerton.
The product out of Wheaton, Ill., has been on-point all season averaging 10.10 assists per set to rank second in The Big West and 46th in the nation.
