LONG BEACH, Calif. –
Tori Harris was electric on Saturday as she dropped a career-high 32 points to lead Long Beach State to a 70-52 win over UC San Diego at the Walter Pyramid.

The Beach (11-7, 6-2 Big West) have now won four-straight games as they shot 48.1 percent from the field and connected on 17-of-19 free throws. LBSU was dominant in the win over the Tritons (8-10, 5-3 Big West) as they went on a 19-0 run to break the game open in the first half.

Harris was on fire from the start as she scored the first points of the game for Long Beach on her way to 32 as she became the first Beach player to record a 30-point game since 2018. Harris shot 64.3 percent from the field (9-14) and drained three triples. She was almost perfect from the charity strip, sinking 11-of-12. Additionally, the redshirt senior from Dix Hills, N.Y., finished with four rebounds three steals, and two assists.

Redshirt senior Malia Bambrick added 14 points as she registered 7-of-13 field goals to go along with five boards, three steals, and three assists.

Long Beach State and UC San Diego began the game trading points. With the Beach down, 6-4, Ma'Qhi Berry evened things up with a layup that would spark an incredible 19-0 run. LBSU closed out the frame scoring 14-straight points to hold an 18-6 advantage over the Tritons as the end of the first quarter.

The Beach continued their scoring run into the second quarter as they kicked off the frame with five-straight points to extend their lead to 17 (23-6) as a trey from Harris capped the 19-0 run. The Tritons got into a bit of a groove themselves, scoring nine-straight to cut LBSU's lead down to eight (32-42), but the Beach went back up by double-digits (34-24) at halftime thanks to a turnaround jumper from Kristyna Jeskeova.

The third quarter saw the Beach continue to hold a steady lead over the Tritons. Long Beach State strung together six-straight points to go up by 15 (55-40) with just 1:53 left in the frame as Kennan Ka's steal led to a Patricia Chung layup. Ka picked up another steal with 29 seconds left in the quarter and passed it off to Harris who hit a turnaround jumper to send the Beach into the fourth quarter with a 59-42 lead.

Long Beach State never let up as the Beach led by as many as 24 (68-44) in the fourth quarter after Harris drained her final shot of the game, a three at 6:34. The Beach would go on to defeat the Tritons by a score of 70-52.

UC San Diego's Izzy Forsyth led the way for the Tritons with 12 points, while Emily Cangleosi added 10 points. Sydney Brown led the team with 10 rebounds to go along with seven points and three assists.

Long Beach State looks to extend its winning streak to five when they host Cal Poly at the Walter Pyramid on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
