Long Beach State Men’s Basketball Announces 2022-23 Schedule

The defending Big West champs welcome fans for 15 home games this season.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – The reigning Big West champs, Long Beach State Men's Basketball is excited to open the doors to the Walter Pyramid once again to fans with no COVID-19 restrictions as the Beach looks to repeat as champions with a strong returning core and a number of exciting newcomers.

Senior Joel Murray returns following a season where the point guard earned First Team All-Big West honors and led the Big West in scoring at 16.7 points per game as Long Beach State went 20-13 overall and 12-3 in Big West play.
He'll be joined by two scintillating sophomores in Aboubacar Traore and Jadon Jones. Jones was named the Big West Defensive Player of the Year, and averaged 10.5 points per game while shooting 37.1 percent from three and finishing the league's top 10 in both steals and blocks as a freshman.
Meanwhile, Traore had a breakout season, leading the Big West in rebounding during league play at 9.9 rebounds per game while just one of five players nationally to record multiple games of 20 rebounds or more, joining a short list of some of the most elite players in the country.
Long Beach State will open the season with an open exhibition against Biola on October 21 before opening the regular season on the road with two local matchups at California Baptist and UCLA. The Beach will then host their home opener against Montana State on Sunday, November 13.
The Beach will get to see a new beach over Thanksgiving, matching up with some of the top mid-major competition in the country at the Baha Mar Hoops Nassau Championship. Other road games of note include trips to Utah Valley, Sacramento State and USC.
Conference action then kicks off on December 29 as UC San Diego officially joins the battle for the top of the Big West standings, playing their first counting league game at Long Beach State. A full slate of 20 games is scheduled to be complete in 2022-23, with all 20 games scheduled to be viewed live on ESPN+.
