Women’s Soccer Plays Arizona State to a 2-2 Draw in Exhibition

Felicia Jastré Högberg and Sara Ybarra scored the goals for the Beach, but a pair of late scores for ASU resulted in a tie.¬
PHOENIX, Ariz. – Long Beach State played Arizona State to a 2-2 draw in their final pre-season exhibition game on Saturday night.
The Beach were on the scoreboard right out of the gate with Felicia Jastré Högberg finding the back of the net in the third minute. The freshman striker received a long Maddy Perez pass from the Beach half of the field before beating the keeper to give LBSU an early 1-0 lead.
Coming out of halftime, LBSU found the back of the net quickly once again. In the 50th minute, Lena Silano crossed a ball in for Sara Ybarra to finish and extend the lead to 2-0.
Unfortunately, the lead would not hold as Arizona State scored twice in a minute to knot things up at 2-2 with 15 minutes left to play.
The scoring stopped there resulting in a 2-2 draw.
Next up for Long Beach State is their season opener against Pacific on Thursday. Kickoff at George Allen Field will be at 7:00 p.m.
