LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Head Men's Golf Coach Michael Wilson announced the hiring of Reilly Hegarty on Friday morning. Hegarty will join the staff as an assistant coach for the 2022-23 season.
"We are excited to welcome Reilly to the team," said Wilson. "We have big goals and dreams for Long Beach State Men's Golf and I know Reilly shares the same beliefs and vision. He is a hard worker, intelligent, and passionate about this great game. I look forward to working alongside him and doing big things together."
Hegarty is a recent graduate from Whitworth, a Division III school in Spokane, Wash., where he was a Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) First Team All-West Region and Honorable Mention All-American.
"I am extremely excited to join the team at Long Beach State and continue to build on the positive momentum the team has built over the last few years," said Hegarty. "Coach Wilson has done a tremendous job building this program and I am honored to be a part of it moving forward, while learning from him. I can't thank Coach Wilson enough for this opportunity. I can't wait to get to work and start bringing home some trophies for the Beach."
Hegarty prepped at Pendleton High School in Oregon where he was a three-time individual state qualifier who won seven high school tournaments over the course of his career.
He graduated from Whitworth University with a degree in business management.
