Ian Gilligan Claims Second Consecutive Big West Golfer of the Month Award

Gilligan earns the award after a strong October in which he won the Mackenzie
IRVINE, Calif. – Long Beach State's Ian Gilligan continued his hot start into the month of October en route to being named The Big West's Golfer of the Month for the second consecutive time. The conference office made the announcement on Friday afternoon.
Gilligan earned the honors with two outstanding performances last month. First, he led Long Beach State to a top five finish at the Mackenzie, hosted by Cal, as he was the individual winner after firing a 70-66-65 for a 201 15-under par performance. His strong showing marked his second-straight tournament win.
The sophomore from Reno, Nev., followed that performance with another top finish for the Beach at the inaugural Cal Poly Invitational where he shot a 70-69-75 for 2-under par for a tie for 13th place as he led Long Beach State to a Top 10 finish.
