Devereaux Harrison was a Second Team selection by D1 Baseball.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Devereaux Harrison has been named a Preseason All-American by the writers of D1Baseball.com. It is the third selection he has received by the major outlets after also receiving Second Team nods from Perfect Game and Collegiate Baseball.
The right-hander from Vacaville is coming off a 2021 season that saw him named Big West Freshman Pitcher of the Year, NCBWA All-American, Baseball America Freshman All-American, Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American, ABCA All-West Region Second Team, and All-Big West First Team.
Overall, Harrison tossed 34.1 innings posting a 1.57 ERA and holding opponents to a .175 opponent average. Following the end of the 2021 campaign, he was invited to play with the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team where he appeared in five games. In six innings of work, he surrendered just one run and three hits while striking out seven. He posted a 1.50 ERA, .167 BAA, and a 10.5 K/9.
A draft-eligible sophomore, Harrison has also been ranked as the number 154 overall draft prospect and number 83 college prospect for the 2022 MLB Draft by Perfect Game.
Harrison and the number 24 ranked Dirtbags open the 2022 season on February 18 at Mississippi State.
