Joel Murray Named Big West Player of the Week

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Junior Joel Murray was named the Big West Player of the Week after leading Long Beach State to a pair of victories, extending the Men's Basketball winning streak to four games.

Murray averaged 22.0 points per game in a road win at UC San Diego and a critical home win in the Black and Blue Rivalry against UC Irvine. Sharing in the team lead with Colin Slater by scoring 20 points in La Jolla against the Tritons, Murray went off for 24 points against the 'Eaters.

Over the course of the week, Murray also averaged three assists and three steals per game, while going a perfect 14-for-14 from the free throw line over the two games.

Murray becomes the first player for Long Beach State this season to be named the Big West Player of the Week.
