Kashauna Williams Earns Big West Offensive Player of the Week Honors

Williams garners the honors for the second-straight week
IRVINE, Calif. – Long Beach State junior outside hitter Kashauna Williams was named Big West Offensive Player of the Week for the second week in a row after leading the Beach at the LBSU Tournament last weekend.
Williams was named to the All-Tournament Team after averaging 4.90 kills per set as she totaled 49 kills over three matches. The product out of Los Angeles, Calif., recorded double-digit kills in each match including a 22-kill performance against No. 16 Georgia Tech. Williams has now registered double-figure kills in all six matches thus far and has recorded 10-career 20-plus kill showings.
In addition to her strong offensive showing last weekend, Williams also contributed 1.20 digs per set and 0.60 blocks per set against No. 18 UCLA, No. 16 Georgia Tech, and Portland State.
Williams and the Beach will be back in action this week at the Cougar Challenge in Pullman, Wash., as LBSU takes on Washington State on Thursday at 6 p.m., as well as Gonzaga and Northern Iowa on Friday at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., respectively.
