Richard Loza Named Assistant Athletics Director For Marketing At The Beach

Loza has spent the last 12 years in a similar role at UC Santa Barbara.

                Loza was hired in 2009 as the Director of Marketing at UC Santa Barbara, and was responsible for the development of marketing plans and creative vision to improve the areas of ticket sales, event attendance, fan engagement and development among other areas.
                His efforts in digital media campaigns were crucial to the UCSB brand has he was responsible for the development and subsequent redesign of official website, www.ucsbgauchos.com. He also helped to create an annual content calendar as well as launching the department's first paid digital media campaigns.
                In one of his first major duties, Loza worked jointly with the Athletic Director in 2010 on a full overhaul of the Gaucho Athletics brand. In the process, he helped to create a seamless department identity complete with new marks, color scheme, fonts and mascot.
               Additionally, Loza was responsible for founding the Gaucho Sports Marketing program, a thriving and innovative internship program that has proven successful in both producing high quality end products while placing graduates in high-level professional sports marketing and advertising careers.
