Beach is Back! Women’s Volleyball Releases 2021 Schedule

The Long Beach State women’s volleyball team will play 15 home matches at the Walter Pyramid
2021 Women's Volleyball Schedule
LONG BEACH, Calif. – For the first time in nearly two years, Long Beach State women's volleyball will return to action at the Walter Pyramid as head coach Joy McKienzie-Fuerbringer announced the 2021 schedule on Thursday morning.
Prior to the official start of the season, the Beach will play the Black and Gold scrimmage on Saturday, August 14 before hosting Pepperdine on Saturday, August 21 in an exhibition contest at 5 p.m.
The 2021 season will begin on Friday, August 27 at the Boise State Tournament where the Beach will face Montana State and Boise State, before taking on Dixie State on Saturday, August 28.
Long Beach State's home opener is set for Thursday, September 2 against UCLA at 7 p.m. The match against the Bruins kicks off the Long Beach State tournament which features Portland State and Georgia Tech in addition to UCLA and LBSU. The tournament runs from Sept. 2 – 4.
The Beach will play in their final non-conference tournament at Washington State in Pullman, Wash., on Friday, September 10 and Saturday, September 11.
LBSU returns to the Walter Pyramid to wrap up the preseason with a pair of non-conference contests against San Diego State (Sept. 14) and San Diego (Sept. 18), before kicking off Big West Conference action against Cal Poly on Friday, Sept. 24.
The match against Cal Poly not only opens Big West action, but begins a three-match homestand for Long Beach State as LBSU hosts CSU Bakersfield and Cal State Fullerton on Sept. 25 and 28, respectively.
The Beach will begin the month of October on the road taking on Hawai'i (Oct. 1), UC Santa Barbara (Oct. 8), and CSUN (Oct. 9), before returning to Long Beach, Calif., to host UC San Diego on Friday, Oct. 15. The following day, LBSU will take on UC Irvine at the Bren Events Center on Saturday, Oct. 16, before hosting UC Riverside and UC Davis at the Walter Pyramid on Oct. 22 and 23, respectively.
Long Beach State hits the road again with a three-match road swing at CSU Bakersfield (Oct. 29), Cal Poly (Oct. 30), and Cal State Fullerton (Nov. 2), before playing three matches at home against Hawai'i (Nov. 6), CSUN (Nov. 12), and UC Santa Barbara (Nov. 13).
The Beach will take on UC San Diego in La Jolla, Calif., on Friday, Nov. 19, before hosting the Anteaters of UCI at the Pyramid on Saturday, Nov. 20 in the final regular season home game of the year.
LBSU closes out the regular season on the road with a Wednesday, Nov. 24 contest at UC Davis, followed by a Saturday, Nov. 27 match at UC Riverside.
Season tickets are now available.
