Dirtbags Announce 40-Game Conference Only Slate

The 2021 season is set to begin on the road at Hawai’i on March 19.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Dirtbags baseball will try to recapture the momentum from last season's outstanding start as the team resumes competition starting this March with a 40-game, conference-only schedule.
Owing to the condensed schedule, the Big West Conference has approved four-game series for each weekend, with a middle day doubleheader as part of the schedule. Long Beach State has not added any non-conference games, and will start the 2021 campaign against Hawai'i on March 19.
After traveling to the islands, the Beach will host CSUN starting on March 26 for the team's first home series. LBSU will also host Cal Poly, UC Santa Barbara, and CSU Bakersfield at Bohl Diamond at Blair Field, before closing the regular season at home against UC Davis starting on May 27. Times will be announced at a later date.
Long Beach State started the 2020 season with four straight series wins, and was ranked No. 12 in the nation prior to the suspension of the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Dirtbags return a solid core of veterans and have a large group of newcomers joining the team as roster restrictions have been eased for the 2021 season by the NCAA.
All Long Beach State home games will be broadcast on Beach Vision or by our broadcast partners. You can join the action at the field by purchasing a fan cutout at www.longbeachstate.com/springcutouts.
