Three Long Beach State Women’s Soccer Players Named All-West Region

Kaitlin Fregulia, Lena Silano, and Kaylee Ramirez all earned All-West Region selections.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Three Long Beach State student-athletes have been named All-West Region with Kaitlin Fregulia and Lena Silano earning Second Team selections and Kaylee Ramirez earning a Third Team selection. The news was announced on Monday by the United Soccer Coaches.
In her final season with the Beach, Fregulia adds a Second Team All-West Region selection to her list of accolades after being named Big West Co-Defensive Player of the Year and All-Big West First Team for the 2021 season. The Torrance native totaled three points on the season while leading the defense to the lowest goals against average in the conference.
This marks the second time in her career, she garners All-West Region honors after being named to the Second Team in 2017 as well.
Silano's historic season gives her a Second Team selection to go along with her All-Big West First Team honor. The junior forward scored 11 goals, six of which were game-winners, and totaled 25 points. Her 2021 season ranks second most in game-winning goals, third in shots, fifth in goals, and seventh in points in the Long Beach State record books. She is one of just nine players in program history to score ten-plus goals in a single-season.
Ramirez ends her Long Beach State career with another award, earning Second Team honors to go along with her All-Big West Honorable Mention. The Chino Hills native led the team and ranked third in the Big West with seven assists, the most since the 2013 season. Starting every game on the back line, she helped the Beach post a 0.89 goals against average to lead the league.
This marks the first time earning All-West Region honors for both Silano and Ramirez.
The three All-Region honors is the most for the program since the 2016 season when the Beach had two First Team honorees and a Second Team honoree.
