Joel Murray scored 14 points to lead Long Beach State.

NAPLES, Fla. – Long Beach State slipped behind early and never got going offensively as the Beach fell in their second game of the Naples Invitational against Murray State.

                Murray State (4-1) led wire-to-wire after opening the game with a 7-0 run as Long Beach State (1-4) really struggled offensively in the first half, shooting just 5-of-18 and missing all six of their 3-point attempts.

                The key run came as the Races went on a 10-1 stretch after a Romelle Mansel basket cut the lead to five, and the edge would grow to 27 by halftime.

                Long Beach State's shooting improved in the second half, but the damage was done as Murray State continued their hot shooting to finish the day 50% from the field while making 12 3-pointers.

                Joel Murray led the way for Long Beach State with 14 points, while Eddie Scott and Aboubacar Traore, who made his first career start as a true freshman, each finished with five rebounds.

                The Beach will close out their time at the Naples Invitational with one final game on Wednesday, beginning at Noon ET/9 a.m. PT when they face Wright State. As with the previous two games, live coverage will be provided by FloHoops.
