LONG BEACH, Calif. –
Long Beach State got a solid team showing as the Beach had four players score in double figures en route to taking down Big West Conference leading UC Davis, 66-57, on Saturday evening inside the Walter Pyramid on Senior Day.

With the victory, Long Beach State closes out the regular season with a 13-16 overall record and an 8-8 Big West Conference mark. Meanwhile, UC Davis moves to 17-12 on the year and 12-4 in league action.

Long Beach State's final seeding in the Big West Conference tournament will be determined following the Hawaii-Cal Poly game in Honolulu tonight.

Sophomore guard Justina King finished as the team's leading scorer with 19 points, 14 of which were scored in the second half. She led a quartet of double-figure scorers as senior Cydnee Kinslow and junior Shanaijah Davison added 13 points each, while redshirt sophomore Ma'Qhi Berry contributed 12.

Davison grabbed five boards to lead the Beach, while also adding two assists. Meanwhile, King dished out three assists, while Kinslow swiped a pair of steals.

LBSU didn't waste any time as the Beach opened the game on an 8-0 run and led the entire first quarter. Long Beach State shot 37.5-percent from the field in the first 10 minutes of action as the Beach connected on 6-of-6 field goals. LBSU held a 14-8 lead over UC Davis heading into the second quarter.

UC Davis made things interesting in the subsequent 10 minutes as the Aggies used a 9-0 run of their own to take an 18-14 edge over the Beach. However, Long Beach State showed its resiliency as the Beach battled the Aggies and went on a 10-2 run of their own, highlighted by a three from Kinslow, as Long Beach regained the lead (24-20). The battle continued as the two teams found themselves deadlocked at 27-27 at halftime.

The second half began with Davis taking a four-point lead over the Beach on two occasions. However, Berry drained a three at 6:25 to pull the beach within one (33-32), before dropping in a layup at 5:49 to give Long Beach State back its lead (34-33). The third quarter went back-and-forth until the buzzer at which time Davison was fouled as she made the layup before completing the three-point play to give LBSU a 40-39 edge heading into the fourth quarter.

After her bang-bang play at the buzzer to end the third quarter, Davison kicked off the fourth with a long jumper and Kinslow hit a three to give the Beach a six-point lead (45-39) over the Aggies. Long Beach State controlled the game in the fourth quarter connecting on 7-of-9 field goals for a sizzling 77.8 shooting percentage. Additionally, the beach made 8-of-12 free throw attempts in the frame as the hosts led by as many as 12 (66-53) with just 40 seconds remaining before earning the win, 66-57.

Long Beach State and UC Davis shot an identical 42.6 percent in the game, but the Beach held the edge in rebounding (32-29) and forced the Aggies into 19 turnovers.

UC Davis's Sage Stobbart finished with 13 points, while Campbell Gray added 10.
