Chance Hunter Named To Preseason All-Big West Team

Hunter selected by the media for the six-player preseason team; Beach picked to finish sixth.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Chance Hunter was named to the six-player Preseason All-Conference Team as the Big West Conference announced its preseason media poll and team voting on Thursday.
Hunter led Long Beach State in scoring a year at 13.9 points per game, and earned Honorable Mention All-Big West following his first season at the Beach. Hunter ranked in the Big West's Top 10 in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage, 3-point field goal percentage and 3-pointers made last season.
He was joined by Arinze Chidom of UC Riverside, Ezra Manjon from UC Davis, Collin Welp from UC Irvine and JaQuiri McLaughlin and Amadou Sow from UC Santa Barbara on the Preseason All-Conference Team.
In the media poll, Long Beach State was picked to finish in sixth place overall. Defending champions UC Irvine remained in the top spot, receiving 18 first place votes, while UC Santa Barbara was picked just behind the Anteaters in second place with nine-first place votes. UC Davis was picked third, and received the only other first place vote.
Hawai'i, UC Riverside and the Beach picked up the next three slots, while CSU Bakersfield, CSUN, Cal State Fullerton and Cal Poly rounded out the poll. UC San Diego is in the midst of its reclassification period and was not included in the poll, but will be included in competition in the Tritons' first season in the conference.
