Long Beach State will get an advance round at the Big West Championship course.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Women's Golf will start the spring portion of their schedule with a one-day tuneup on Monday, January 27 hosting three other teams for the Las Vegas Four-Way.
The one-day event will feature three other teams in Gonzaga, UNLV and Nebraska and will feature a modified scoring format.
The ultimate draw of the day will be the opportunity to play the course at Spanish Trail Country Club where the Beach will be spending a lot of time in the coming months. Long Beach State will be co-hosting the Rebel Beach Invitational with UNLV in February before closing the regular season with the Big West Championship there on April 19-21.
Senior Holland Shourds led Long Beach State in three of four fall tournament contested by the main squad in the fall, and she'll be joined by two other seniors in Euna Pak and Maria Davis as the Beach chases a third consecutive Big West crown.
Sophomore Hunter Pate shared in the team lead with Maria Davis in the final fall tournament, the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, while fellow sophomore Hannah Ko also competed in four tournaments with a pair of Top 25 finishes this fall as consistent competitors that will be pushed for time by a trio of freshman newcomers in Vanessa Richiani, Chloe Carraway and Khameryn Utu and sophomore Morgan Polley.
Live scoring will not be available for the Las Vegas Four-Way, so check back at www.longbeachstate.com for finishing information late Monday evening.
