Deishuan Booker Named Co-Big West Player of the Week

Booker is the first LBSU player recognized with the award this season.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Deishuan Booker was named the Co-Big West Player of the Week after leading the Beach to a pair of victories last week.

                Booker averaged 28.5 points per game as the Beach went on the road for a 69-64 win at UC Santa Barbara before dominating Cal Poly at home. Against the Mustangs, Booker recorded his fifth career double-double, scoring 31 points with 10 rebounds while also making five assists.

                The senior also continued to thrive at the free throw line, going 19-for-19 over the two games. The nation's leader in free throws made, Booker has now made 43 in a row and owns the Long Beach State and Big West single-season records with 235 makes this season.

                Booker was 18-for-33 from the field over the two games as Long Beach State has now won four straight games. Terrell Gomez from CSUN was the other honoree sharing the award.
