Beach Women’s Basketball to Face Cal State Fullerton in First Round of Big West Tournament

Long Beach State earned a No. 7 seed and will play the No. 6 seed Titans on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach State women's basketball team earned a No. 7 seed in the Big West Tournament presented by Pacific Surfliner. The Beach will take on No. 6 seed Cal State Fullerton on Tuesday, March 12 at 8:30 p.m. in the First Round at the Bren Events Center in Irvine, Calif. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
The Beach finished the regular season with an 8-21 overall record and were 5-11 in Big West action. Long Beach State is looking to snap a three-game losing skid heading into the tournament.
LBSU and Cal State Fullerton split the regular season series as the Beach picked up a 59-53 win over the Titans on the road last month, before dropping a 50-47 contest at the Walter Pyramid last week.
The first two rounds of the women's tournament will take at the Bren Events Center on the campus of UC Irvine. The tournament will then shift to the Honda Center for the semifinals on Friday, March 15, with the championship game on Saturday, March 16.
All-session tickets for the Big West Basketball Tournament can be purchased for $69 through member institutions. Single-session tickets for the women's first round and quarterfinals at the Bren Center can be purchased for $10 (GA seating), while Student/Youth Single-Session tickets can be purchased for $5 (GA seating).

Semifinal 1: No. 1 UC Davis vs. Lowest Remaining Seed – 12 p.m.
Semifinal 2: No. 2 Hawaii vs. Highest Remaining Seed – 2:30 p.m.
