Long Beach State Set for Preseason CanAm Holiday Volleyball Showcase

The Beach will prep for the 2020 season with three exhibition matches in Toronto
About the CanAm Holiday Volleyball Showcase
TORONTO – The Long Beach State men's volleyball team will get a tune up for the 2020 season in the form of an exhibition tournament in Toronto, Canada as the Beach are set to take part in the CanAm Holiday Volleyball Showcase beginning Saturday, Dec. 28.
The CanAm Tournament pits No. 4 Long Beach State against Trinity Western on Saturday, Dec. 28 at 4 p.m. (PT), before the Beach face off against Alberta on Monday, Dec. 30 at 4 p.m. (PT), and McMaster on Tuesday, Dec. 31 at 8:30 a.m. (PT).
All matches of the tournament will be live streamed at sportscanada.tv/2019cahvs.
The teams participating in the tournament are comprised of four Canadian teams including the 2019 U SPORTS Champion Trinity Western Spartans, Alberta Golden Bears, Ryerson Rams, and McMaster Marauders, along with four American squads including the 2018 and 2019 NCAA Champion Beach of Long Beach State, No. 2 UCLA Bruins, Ohio State Buckeyes, and No. 6 Lewis Flyers.
The CanAm Holiday Volleyball Showcase is North America's premier men's volleyball event. The annual event showcases North America's top collegiate programs in a four-day tournament between eight national powerhouses.
In addition to top-tier competition, the CanAm Tournament also features an international caliber Coaching Symposium for Canadian and American coaches to learn from the sport's coaching masterminds. Coaches of national championship programs and international competition will share their knowledge with up and coming coaches in the community.
Long Beach State will see action in three of the four days of the tournament before opening the 2020 season on Thursday, Jan. 9 at the UC Santa Barbara Asics Tournament. The Beach's home opener is set for Friday, Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. against No. 12 USC inside the Walter Pyramid.
