Long Beach State Basketball Announces Fan Events for Upcoming Season

LB Nation has plenty of events to look forward to during the upcoming basketball season, including open practices, exclusive events before and after select home games, and pregame gatherings on the road.
LONG BEACH, Calif. -- In an effort to unify the Long Beach State Basketball fan base, the Beach Athletic Club invites fans and supporters to attend some special events throughout the upcoming 2018-19 hoops season. In addition to the three Town Hall Meetings with Athletic Director Andy Fee, which were announced last week, Long Beach State will be hosting other special events both in the community and on the road for traveling fans.

The first round of events will be a pair of open practices for the men's and women's basketball teams, available exclusively to basketball season-ticket holders and Beach Athletic Club members. The men's team will host open practices on Friday, Oct. 5 and Thursday, Oct. 25 starting at 8 a.m. at the Walter Pyramid with a post-practice Q&A session with Coach Dan Monson and staff. The women's team will have open practices on Friday, Oct. 12 and Monday, Oct. 22 starting at 2 p.m. at the Walter Pyramid with a post-practice Q&A session with Coach Jeff Cammon and staff. Both teams will host the Black & Gold Scrimmage on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. at the Walter Pyramid.

Away from the basketball court, both teams will be in attendance at the Councilwoman Suzie Price's Concert in the Park at Marine Stadium Park on Friday, Oct. 12 at 6 p.m.

Throughout the season, there will be pregame "Beach Athletic Club Huddles" scheduled prior to most men's basketball road games. The first pregame gathering will be on Friday, Nov. 9 in Los Angeles prior to Long Beach State's season opener at UCLA. Locations for the Huddles can be found here. The next day, Nov. 10, will be the annual Homecoming Game, featuring the jersey retirement ceremony for Glenn McDonald.

There will be also be pregame gatherings prior to Long Beach State's away games against USC (Nov. 28), UC Irvine (Jan. 16), CSUN (Jan. 23), Cal Poly (Feb. 9), UC Davis (Feb. 16), UC Riverside (Feb. 23), UC Santa Barbara (Feb. 28), and all potential Big West Tournament and NCAA Tournament games.

A new feature and added benefit for season ticket holders and Beach Athletic Club members are pregame and postgame gatherings to meet the team and legends of Long Beach State Men's Basketball. All season ticket holders for men's basketball will be invited to select events during pregame to meet legends of Long Beach State Basketball on Nov. 25 and Jan. 26. Beach Athletic Club members will be invited to select events following games to mix and mingle with coaches and current student-athletes on the men's basketball team on Dec. 22, Jan. 12, Feb. 2, and Mar. 2. Information on these gatherings will be sent directly to invited members prior to the event.
