Long Beach State Athletics Hall Of Fame Welcomes New Members

Eight former student-athletes, one team and two outstanding community members joined the LBSU Hall of Fame.
LONG BEACH, Calif. -- On on incredible evening Thursday, Long Beach State Athletics was proud to induct ten new members into the Long Beach State Athletics Hall of Fame in front of over 300 fans and supporters at the Downtown Hyatt Regency in Long Beach.
Inductees in the 2018 class included the 1998 Women's Volleyball National Championship team, Benishe Dillard from that same team, community members Glen and Debbie Bickerstaff, Albert Shorts from Track and Field, Baseball's Jason Vargas, Women's Golf's Kay Hoey, Women' Soccer's Nadia Link, Softball's Carla Williams, Men's Volleyball's David Lee, and Casper Ware of Men's Basketball.
In addition to the inductees, the Beach also presented three inspirational awards to deserving current student-athletes. The Bill Bovee Determination Award was given to Lauren Lombardi, the Lynn Hoyem Leadership Award was given to Shalee Reynolds, and the Todd Hart Courage Award was given to Matt Butler.
