Katie Pingel Named Honorable Mention Team Of The Week

Pingel is the third LBSU player recognized by Top Drawer Soccer this year.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Junior Katie Pingel was rewarded for her efforts in pushing the Beach towards a championship with an Honorable Mention spot on the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week.
Pingel had a goal and an assist last week, helping Long Beach State move to the top of the Big West standings and claim the program's fifth Big West Championship. Pingel scored the second goal for Long Beach State in the team's 3-3 draw at UC Davis, putting away a confident finish one on one after a good centering ball from Elysia Laramie.
The in the regular season finale, Pingel returned the favor, using a great touch to beat her defender and send in a perfect pass to senior Ashley Gonzales, who didn't miss from directly in front of goal in a 3-1 win to clinch the title.
Pingel is the third player for the Beach recognized this season. Imani McDonald was the team's goalkeeper in the first week of action, while Sarah Pilster was an honorable mention selection as a defender after wins against Northeastern and San Diego State.
