McCaughan Picks Up Perfect Game Preseason All-American Nod

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Junior Darren McCaughan has earned another Preseason All-American honor heading into the 2017 season, as he was announced as a 2017 Perfect Game Rawlings Preseason College All-American on Monday. McCaughan is listed on the third team, and is one of four Big West players included among the All-American teams.
McCaughan is the reigning Big West Pitcher of the Year, and was already named a second team Preseason All-American by Collegiate Baseball. He was 10-1 with a 2.03 ERA in his 16 starts, allowing just 76 hits and 16 walks in 111 innings pitched.
This is the second consecutive season that Long Beach State has had a Perfect Game Preseason All-American, after shortstop Garrett Hampson earned a spot on the third team last year.
