New Hires Fill Multiple Positions At The Beach

Long Beach, Calif. - Long Beach State has announced a number of staff changes in advance of the 2016-17 school year, some filling existing changes in addition to a handful of new positions with the athletic department.
The Beach is excited to welcome these six new staff members, and you can find out more about them below!
Robby Boyd – Director, Beach Athletic Club
Long Beach State welcomes Robby Boyd as the new Director of the Beach Athletic Club, a position that sat vacant over the course of the 2015-16 campaign. A former student-athlete at Arizona State, Boyd went on to a distinguished career in sales, working for a variety of companies over the last 20 years before making the transition to collegiate athletics. Boyd will assume the everyday management of the Beach Annual Fund while assisting the Development staff with their fundraising duties.
Kaitlyn Platt – Assistant Marketing Director
Joining the marketing staff for 2016-17 will be Kaitlyn Platt. A former student-athlete in volleyball from Concordia-Irvine, Platt is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Athletic Administration and has a background in graphic design, working with the CUI Athletics Department as a graduate assistant in addition to working with Vision Design Studio. Platt will be responsible for assisting with the department's marketing and promotions efforts, with a specific emphasis on Women's Volleyball, Men's Volleyball and Baseball.
Kellyn Brawley – Hospitality and Stewardship Services Coordinator
Long Beach State graduate Kellyn Brawley will return to the Beach as the Hospitality and Stewardship Services Coordinator. Working closely with Long Beach State's administration and development staff, Brawley has an excellent background in administrative duties, most recently working at Slalom Consulting in San Francisco, where she was responsible for the planning and execution of all company events. That experience will serve Brawkey well in her role at Long Beach State, where she will be heavily involved in Jewels of the Night, a Toast to Women's Athletics, and the numerous other special events LBSU hosts in a year in addition to regular hospitality events in the Walter Pyramid and at Blair Field.
Jacqueline Pigozzi – Department Coordinator
Long Beach State is excited to welcome back Jacqueline Pigozzi in a full-time role, as she assumes the duties of the Department Coordinator. After assisting in internship roles with both Development, and most recently, the Compliance staff, Pigozzi will take a more active role in the administration of the department, handling game contracts, donation deposits and other important administrative duties. A 2014 graduate of St. Mary's College, Pigozzi recently completed the Master's program in Sports Management at Long Beach State.
Beach Sports Properties – Sales and Marketing Assistant
Kristina Fortner
Beach Sports Properties General Manager Tony Soares has announced that Kristina Fortner will be joining his team as a Sales and Marketing Assistant. Since graduating from Cal Poly Pomona, Fortner has primarily worked as a broker with State Farm Insurance, but has a background in sports and marketing, as well as sales experience that will help her in her role assisting with Long Beach State's corporate sales and fulfillment partnership with Beach Sports Properties.
Ticket Sales Account Executive
Krockett Reyes
Completing the staffing of the new ticket sales partnership at the Beach, Benny Garcia has announced the hiring of Krockett Reyes as an Account Executive. Reyes most recently spent a year and a half with the Los Angeles Clippers organization, first with fan relations before moving to inside sales, where he was responsible for season ticket sales along with partial plans and group sales. That experience will serve him well in his role at the Beach, where he will be a primary contact for a number of sales initiatives for the upcoming year.
