LBSU Alum David Lee Named to U.S. Olympic Men's Volleyball Team

LONG BEACH - Long Beach State alum David Lee has been named to the U.S. Olympic Men's Volleyball Team that will compete at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
This will be Lee's third Olympic Games. He won a gold medal with the 2008 squad in Beijing and was also a member of the 2012 team that advanced to the quarterfinals in London.
The United States begins the 2016 Olympic Games vs. Canada on Aug. 7.
Lee and the U.S. Men's National Team are currently in the midst of the 2016 FIVB World League where they opened with a 2-1 record in Rio de Janeiro. They will also travel to Rome before returning home to close out pool play in Dallas, Texas. The final round is set for July 13-17 in Krakow, Poland.
Lee was a member of the U.S. team that won the FIVB World League in 2008 and 2015, and that claimed gold at the 2015 FIVB World Cup.
Lee competed at the Beach from 2001-04, helping the 49ers advance to the NCAA finals as a senior. He was a two-time All-MPSF selection and a 2004 AVCA first-team All-American.
