FIRST TEE
The Long Beach State women's golf team kicks off the 2016 spring season in the Lone Star state, taking part in the All There August Challenge hosted by Texas State. First and second round play will begin on Sunday, Feb. 14, followed by final round action concluding on Monday, Feb. 15. All three rounds will be contested at the Landa Park Golf Course in New Braunfels, Texas. Both days will begin with a 6:30 a.m. (PST) shotgun start.
TEXAS FIELD
The 49ers will be among a 15-team field at the All There August Challenge as LBSU will compete with Texas State, ULM, Houston Baptist, Sam Houston State, Youngstown State, Georgia Southern, Boise State, North Texas, UTEP, UTSA, Little Rock, Idaho, Middle Tennessee and UTRGV.

Senior Kassidy Teare, redshirt sophomore Savannah Knox, sophomores Felicia Taverrite and Jennifer Yu and freshman Haley Tygret will represent the Beach at the All There August Challenge.

49ERS HOST THE GOLD RUSH
The fifth edition of The Gold Rush hosted by LBSU will take place on Feb. 22-23 at Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach, Calif. The 49ers will be among a 15-team field that features Boise State, Boston College, BYU, Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Idaho, Nevada, Ole Miss, Sacramento State, UC Irvine and USC.
LAST TIME OUT
LBSU closed out the fall season with a disappointing 15th place finish at the 19-team Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev. The 49ers finished with a three-day score of 10-under-par 854 (284-283-287). Senior Kassidy Teare was the top player for the Beach, coming up short of claiming her second tournament title as she finished two strokes behind individual medalist Anna Newell of Tennessee. Teare completed the three-day, 54-hole tournament at 16-under 200, breaking the previous three-day program record score by nine shots. Former LBSU All-American Kay Hoey posted a record 209 that was set in 2004 at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic in Fort Collins, Colo.
TEARE NAMED TO GOLFWEEK MIDSEASON ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM
Senior Kassidy Teare was named to Golfweek's Midseason All-Conference Team back on Jan. 19. Teare was among five players selected for the midseason honor as the Vista, Calif. native is currently ranked No. 91 in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings. Teare begins the spring season as the top player for the 49ers, dominating the fall campaign with her first career tournament win at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate in Highlands Ranch, Colo. and finished runner-up at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown. Teare is also coming off from a record 2014-15 season, as she was the only second women's golfer from LBSU to receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Teare finished tied for 41st among 96 players at the NCAA St. George Regional at Entrada at Snow Canyon Club in St. George, Utah.
TEARE NAMED BIG WEST GOLFER OF THE MONTH FOR OCTOBER
Senior Kassidy Teare was named Big West Conference Women's Golfer of the Month for October. Teare posted her second top-five performance for the month after capturing her first career tournament win at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate in Highlands Ranch, Colo., and finishing runner-up at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown. Teare closed out the fall season with six consecutive rounds under par. She recorded an eight-under-par 208 to win individual medalist by one-shot at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate. LBSU completed the three-day tournament in fifth among 18 teams with a nine-over 873. In the last tournament of the fall season, Teare fired a career-low 66 in the second and final rounds of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown. She completed the tournament at 16-under 200, finishing just two strokes behind first-place. Teare broke the program record three-day score of 209 that was set by former 49er All-American Kay Hoey in 2004.
