Long Beach, Calif. - Junior Roschon Prince was named Big West Player of the Week for his efforts in Long Beach State's win over Oregon State last week, becoming the second 49er in a row to earn Big West Player of the Week honors.
Coming off of the bench against the Beavers, Prince still led the team in minutes played with 34 while recording his first career double-double. Scoring 12 points, Prince added a career-high 12 rebounds and a career-high three steals in the win.
Prince made the final two free throws at Oregon State to seal the four-point win, part of a perfect day from the line as Long Beach State won on the road against a Pac-12 school for the first time since 1995.
The win also marked the third win over a Pac-12 team under Dan Monson, and the ninth win over a Power 6 conference school in the head coach's tenure.
Fellow junior Evan Payne was named Big West Player of the Week last week after averaging over 20 points per game. Long Beach State becomes the first school in the conference this season to have multiple player of the week awards.
