
LBSU Moves Up To Seventh After Two Rounds In Stockton

STOCKTON, Calif. - After two rounds of play at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational, Long Beach State recorded a 282 on Friday to finish in seventh-place at the Stockton Golf and Country Club.
LBSU improved by 12 shots from Thursday's opening round score of 294 to move up three spots in the team standings. The 49ers has a two-round score of 8-over-par 576.
No. 45 BYU leads the field of 13 teams at 9-under as the Cougars lead by seven shots over second-place Seattle (-2) and eight strokes over Sacramento State (-1) in third.
Sophomore Patrick Pockels was the top player for the 49ers, firing a 4-under 67 to jump in the standings by 35 spots to tie for 12th. The Huntington Beach native posted five birdies, one eagle and nine pars for the round.
Redshirt sophomore Joe Fryer made a five-shot improvement with a 69 to move 24 spots in the standings to tie for 16th.
Senior Agostino Milazzo shot a 75 to fall to 28th, while sophomore Andres Gonzalez shot a low 71 to move up 10 spots to tie for 37th.
Sophomore Hunter Reed remained in 71st at 13-over after carding a 77.
Rhett Rasmussen of BYU and Aaron Beverly of Sacramento State leads the field of 78 players at 6-under as both golfers hold a two-shot lead over two players tied for third.
Final round play concludes on Saturday with the 49ers teeing off at 9:34 a.m. (PT) from the 10th tee and will be paired with Denver and Pacific.
