Long Beach, Calif. - Long Beach State got off to a good start and held a 3-2 lead after the first quarter, but USC amped up their offensive attack in the next three quarters and ultimately came away with a 13-8 victory.

The Trojans scored four goals in the second period to take a 6-5 lead into the break.

USC scored seven more goals and held the Beach to three goals scored in the second half to secure the win. Four USC players finished with multi-goal games.

Austin Stevenson put together an impressive stat line for the Beach, finishing with one goal scored, an assist and two steals before exiting the game because of misconduct in the third quarter.

Nolan McConnell and Austin Stewart both finished with two goals apiece to lead the offense for LBSU.

Defensively, Keegan Wicken led the team with three steals and goalie Thomas Freeman recorded 10 saves.

Long Beach State will be back on the road to take on No. 4 Pacific on Oct. 28 in Stockton.
