Men's Volleyball Sweeps Lindenwood and Sacred Heart

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The fourth-ranked Long Beach State men's volleyball team swept Lindenwood (25-14, 25-16, 25-21) and Sacred Heart (25-14, 25-14, 25-19) Friday at the UCSB Asics Invitational.
In the morning match, LBSU hit .442, while holding LU to a .235 attack percentage. The Beach also totaled seven blocks and five aces.
Freshman Kyle Ensing led the 49ers with 17 kills (.542). Freshman TJ DeFalco added 12 kills and three aces, while senior Taylor Gregory finished with seven kills on 10 swings (.600). Senior Dan Glamack chipped in five kills.
The Beach started Glamack (OH), DeFalco (OH), Ensing (OPP), Gregory (MB), John Henry (MB), Josh Tuaniga (S) and Andrew Sato (L).
Long Beach State returned to The Thunderdome in the evening where it cruised to another 3-0 win over Sacred Heart. LBSU hit an impressive .565 and was led by senior Cody Martin's 14 kills (.591). Junior Bryce Yould added 10 kills on 13 swings, while DeFalco finished with eight kills in two sets. Tuaniga also had four of LBSU's seven aces.
The 49ers started Martin (OH), DeFalco (OH), Gregory (MB), Yould (MB), Ensing (OPP) and Tuaniga (S).
The Beach concludes the UCSB Asics Invitational with a 4 p.m. showdown against Quincy on Saturday, Jan. 9.
