
49ers Places 13th At Roy Griak Invitational

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. - The Long Beach State men's cross country team finished in 13th place at the 30th Annual Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota at Les Bolstad Golf Course.
LBSU collected 386 points in the men's 8,000-meter race, finishing just eight points behind Utah Valley (378) in 12th and 23 points behind UMKC (363) in 11th.
Michigan State captured the team title with 74 points as the Spartans edged second-place Southern Utah (88) by 14 points and 20 points over California (94) in third.
Junior Sam Bautista led the way for the Beach finishing in 57th with a time of 26:07.6, followed by redshirt senior Tim Bergstrom in 73rd (26:22.7) and freshman Andres Barragan in 80th (26:26.6).
Juniors Cameron Ford placed 83rd (26:31.5) and Emilio Nunez finished in 122nd (27:03.4).
Jefferson Abbey of Colorado State won the individual title with a time of 24:51.4, crossing the line four seconds ahead of fellow teammate Jerrell Mock (24:55.6).
