Janelle Sua Wins L.A. County Women's Golf Championship

LAKEWOOD, Calif. - Long Beach State senior Janelle Sua captured the 23rd Annual L.A. County Women's Golf Championship on Friday.
The two-day, 36-hole touranment was contested at the par-74, 5,903-yard Lakewood Country Club in Lakewood.
Sua posted a 36-hole score of two-under par 146, holding off fellow 49er teammate redshirt sophomore Savannah Knox by two shots. Knox turned in an even-148 score after shooting rounds of 73 and 75.
In Thursday's opening round, Sua carded an even-74 with three birdies, 12 pars and three bogeys. The Torrance native came back in Friday's final round firing a two-under 72 as her scorecard was highlighted by an eagle, two birdies, 12 pars and two bogeys.
Incoming freshman Breann Fox finished three strokes behind with a one-over 149 (76-73) and sophomore Felicia Taverrite finished with an eight-over 156 (81-75).
The 49ers open the 2015-16 campaign on Sept. 14 in Fort Collins, Colo. at the Colonel Bill Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic hosted by Colorado State.
