Mike Caffey Earns Second-Team All-Region Honors

Long Beach, Calif. - Senior Mike Caffey piled up another award in his distinguished career, as the guard as one of 10 players selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 9 team.
Caffey was named to the second team for the second year in a row in an award honoring the best players from the West Coast and Big West conferences.
The senior finished 2014-15 by leading the 49ers in scoring, assists and steals while ranking second on the team in rebounding last year. Caffey ranked in the conference's top five in both scoring and assists in 2014-15, averaging 16.2 points per game and 3.61 assists.
Caffey closes out his career as one of the top statistical players in Long Beach State history. The senior joins only Ed Ratleff and Casper Ware as 49ers to record 1,500 points and 400 assists at the Beach. His 1,649 points rank sixth in school history, while his 457 assists rank third. He also ranks fifth in both total steals and 3-pointers made at Long Beach State.
Caffey is one of three players from the Big West Conference that was recognized. Corey Hawkins was selected for the first team, while Alan Williams was also a second-team honoree.
