When Hawai'i needed a basket though, it was Webster-Chan again, pushing a six-point edge to nine with 13:50 to play. A 3-pointer from Jones brought the 49ers within five with 12:05 to play, but Stefan Jovanavich answered with a basket on the other end, and the 49ers came no closer the rest of the way.
Jones finished with 12 points and three assists, while Mike Caffey had 11 points and four assists. Tyler Lamb also finished in double figures with 10 points and five rebounds for LBSU.
