49ers Close Out Fall Season At Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic

KA'ANAPALI, Maui - The Long Beach State men's golf team closed out the fall season with a 17th place finish at the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic at Ka'anapali Golf Course.
LBSU posted a final round score of 306 to complete the three-day, 54-hole tournament at 48-over-par 900.
Thirteenth-ranked Oklahoma captured the team title with a 15-under 837 as the Sooners led the 19-team field by 12 shots over second-place Georgia (-3) and 25 strokes over North Carolina State (+10) in third.
Senior Daniel Chian and junior Jonny Hogan were the top players for the 49ers, tying for 49th with a nine-over 222. Chian shot a 77, while Hogan carded a 78.
Senior Michael Chen recorded a 75 to tie for 63rd at 13-over.
Freshman Spencer Koch tied for 82nd at 19-over 232 after carding his best round of the tournament with a 76.
Senior Kevin Lee tied for 93rd after posting an 80 to finish at 24-over.
Zach Healy of Georgia won individual medalist by one shot with an eight-under 205.
The 49ers return to action on Feb. 1 for the LMU Invitational at Reflection Bay Golf Club in Las Vegas.
