LONG BEACH - Long Beach State head women's golf coach Joey Cerulle has announced the signing of Maria Davis, Holland Shourds and Courtney Vogel to National Letters of Intent. All three individuals will join the Beach in the Fall of 2016.

Davis (Vallejo, Calif.) is no stranger to being at the top of leaderboards. She is a multi-time winner on the Northern California Junior Tours. She qualified for the 2014 USGA Jr. Girls Championship in Flagstaff, Ariz., and is committed to being one of the very best players in college.

"Maria is a proven winner and makes her way to Long Beach wanting to be the very best," Cerulle said. "She has all the tools to be a leader and is going to be one of the most talented players in college golf. We feel very blessed to have Maria as a part of our Beach family."

Shourds (Riverside, Calif.) is a no-nonsense, hardworking, competitor that won't let anything get in her way to achieve her goals. She has been a bit of a late bloomer, but has jumped dramatically in the rankings over the last few months and finds herself just outside the top 100 for her class. She also finished her high school career in style by claiming medalist honors in her final appearance at CIF Team Qualifying by carding a 69.

"We feel Holland is the hidden gem of the 2016 class," Cerulle stated. "She is a pure ball striker and has a tireless work ethic. She continues to work at an incredible rate and her upside is sky high. We look forward to unlocking the major potential in Holland and expect big things in the years to come at the Beach."

Vogel (Pacific Grove, Calif.) lives and breathes golf. She has had success all over the country as she resided in South Carolina and Sacramento for some time.

Courtney qualified for the state championship in three of her four years of high school and has the uncanny ability to overcome any obstacle that stands in her way.

"Courtney recently came to California and we are so glad she did," Cerulle said. "We jumped quickly at this east coast player that arrived in style by qualifying for the 2014 California State Championship. We feel that Courtney is the total package of talent, leadership, and intelligence. We are excited that she has decided to call Long Beach State her new home."
