Long Beach, Calif. - Long Beach State fans were treated to a fine evening of comradery and memories as seven greats and the 1991 Men's Volleyball National Championship team were inducted into the LBSU Hall of Fame last night.
Stanford Brewer, Keith Goldie, Chris Segesman, Hannah Grady, Craig Dykema, Mark Kerins and Evan Longoria were honored by the selection, as the seven were formally inducted into the LBSU Athletics Hall of Fame.
A great showing from the 1991 Men's Volleyball team also highlighted the night, as former head coach Ray Ratelle, current 49ers coach Alan Knipe, and nearly all of the rest of the team joined in the festivities.
Additionally, three student-athlete inspirational awards were presented. The Bill Bovee Determination Award was given to soccer's Melanie Fox, the Todd Hart Courage award was given to Kody Robison of men's track and field, and the Lynn Hoyem Leadership Award was given to Ebba Unden of women's tennis.
The induction of eight members pushed membership in the LBSU Athletics Hall of Fame to over 200 members, dating back to the first class, inducted in 1986.
