LBSU Soccer Claims Share of Big West Regular Season Title

LONG BEACH - The Long Beach State women's soccer team has claimed a share of the Big West regular season title and clinched the No. 1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament.
After Sunday's games, the Beach, UC Santa Barbara and Cal State Fullerton finished in a three-way tie for first with 18 points each, but LBSU claimed the top seed as it owns the tiebreaker against both the Gauchos and the Titans.
This is the fourth Big West championship for the Black & Gold under 12th-year head coach Mauricio Ingrassia. Long Beach State will also be searching for its third Big West Tournament title and fifth NCAA Tournament bid in eight years.
The Beach is set to open the Big West Tournament against fourth-seeded UC Riverside at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5. No. 2 UC Santa Barbara will face No. 3 Cal State Fullerton in the second semifinal match-up at 7:30 p.m. Both games will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
The winners then square off in the championship match, which will air live on Fox Sports West, on Sunday, Nov. 8. All three matches will be held at Titan Stadium in Fullerton.
