1/28/2015 12:00:00 AM | General
Long Beach, Calif. - The Big West Coin Drive will take place during the entire month of February at all Long Beach State home events. This annual event, promoted by the Big West Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, is set to begin its 8th year of inter-conference competition to raise funds for each school's selected charity during the month of February.
Collectively, the SAAC organizations of the 9 member institutions have raised $114,602.12 for a variety of charities over the past seven years through the Coin Drive.
Last year, LBSU student-athletes raised $2,596.08 for Wounded Warrior, second only to the University of Hawaii.
This year Long Beach student-athletes will be supporting Precious Lamb Preschool in Long Beach. At every February home event, Beach student-athletes will be present to collect donations to support the Coin Drive effort. 100% of the funds raised in the Coin Drive during February will be given to Precious Lamb.
Donations will also be accepted online at www.preciouslamb.org; donors should be sure to indicate that it is part of the Big West Coin Drive efforts.
