49ers Finish In 14th At Redhawk Invitational

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - The Long Beach State men's golf placed 14th at the Redhawk Invitational at Chambers Bay in University Place, Wash.
LBSU posted a team high 306 in Tuesday's final round to finish the tournament at 48-over-par 892.
Fifteenth-ranked UCLA won the team title, leading the 17-team field with a 9-over 835 as the Bruins won by three shots over No. 17 Washington (-6) in second and 12 strokes over No. 29 Arizona State (+3) in third.
Junior JJ Holen and sophomore Kevin Leel ed the way for the 49ers, tying for 51st at 12-over 223. Both players carded a final round score of 77 as Holen came away with just two birdies for the day.
Junior Kevin Techakanokboon tied for 55th after shooting a high 78 to finish at 13-over and sophomore Daniel Chian tied for 70th with a 74, finishing at 17-over
Freshman Agostino Millazzao placed 79th, finishing at 19-over.
Grant Forrest of San Diego took home individual medalist honors with an 11-under 200, winning by three shots over Jon Rahm of Arizona State (-8) in second.
LBSU returns to action Apr. 27-28, for their regular-season tournament at the OGIO-UCSB Invitational at Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara.
