Big West Champs Close Out Regular Season At Home

No. 16 Long Beach State will return home this week to wrap up the regular season against UC Irvine and Cal State Fullerton. The Beach will host UCI on Wednesday at 7 p.m. on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app before celebrating Senior Day on Saturday at 7 p.m. against the Titans.
THE TEAM
Long Beach State jumped up another two spots in AVCA poll to No. 16 after claiming its 13th Big West title in program history last week. The Beach extended its winning streak to 14 matches and has won the last 13 sets in a row with four consecutive sweeps. LBSU has dominated both series with its OC rivals, holding an 85-5 record against Fullerton and a 67-8 record against UCI.
THE PLAYERS
Chisom Okpala was named the Big West Player of the Week for the second time in her career and was the third 49er to win the award this season. She leads the Big West with a .430 attack percentage in Big West matches.
Tyler Jackson is closing in on the first 400-dig season of her career. She needs just two more to reach the benchmark and needs only 22 more digs to record the 10th-most digs in a season in LBSU history.
SELECTION SUNDAY
Long Beach State invites all fans to join the team in the Pyramid on Sunday to watch the NCAA Selection Show. Doors open at 5:00pm with the show starting at 5:30pm. The selection show will be shown on the brand new video board in the Pyramid and televised on ESPNU.
