LONG BEACH, Calif. - On the last day prior to the start of the spring semester, the Long Beach State Dirtbags spent time at the Stramski Children's Development Center. The Dirtbags and the Stramski Center will continue to enjoy a partnership for the third year in a row.
During the past two seasons, the Dirtbags have invited the children and families at the Stramski Center out to Blair Field to take in a game. On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the Dirtbags reversed the order and made a visit to the Stramski Center.
While visiting, Long Beach State baseball coaches and student-athletes toured the facility and learned more about the how the center works as part of the Miller Children's Hospital in Long Beach. The Dirtbags spent time with doctors and nurses of the center, learning more about the conditions and treatment of the children that visit the center.
Once again in 2014, the Dirtbags will be proud to host a day at Blair Field benefitting the children and families of the Stramski Center. The date has yet to be decided for this season.
The Stramski Children's Development Center is a comprehensive center that cares for children - from birth to age 21 - with behavioral and development conditions.
