COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Long Beach State men's golf team finished in 10th place at the Jack Nicklaus Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at the Ohio State University Golf Club.
LBSU recorded a final round score of 307 to complete the two-day, 54-hole tournament at 55-over-par 907 on the par-71, 7,455-yard Scarlet Course.
Sixteenth-ranked California captured the team title with a 10-under 842 as the Golden Bears won by 19-shots over No. 4 Oklahoma (+9) in second and 21 strokes over No. 25 Oklahoma State (+11) in third.
Sophomore Daniel Chian led the way for the 49ers, carding an 80 to finish the tournament in 26th at 10-over 223.
Fellow classmate Kevin Lee posted his best round of the tournament with a 74 to tie for 25th at 13-over, while junior JJ Holen placed 43rd with a final round 80 (+18).
Freshmen Agostino Milazzo (+19) tied for 44th and Andrew Stanfield (+24) tied for 53rd.
California's Brandon Hagy captured individual medalist with a 6-under 207, winning by one-stroke over Taylor Pendrith of Kent State.
LBSU returns to action Oct. 21-22, traveling to Simi Valley for the Bill Cullum Invitational hosted by Cal State Northridge.
