Last week, over 70 student-athletes participated in graduation ceremonies on campus with academic support staff from the Bickerstaff Center on hand to shower them with confetti and congratulate the graduates on all of their years of hard work. The student-athletes also shook hands with outgoing CSULB President and supporter of LBSU Athletics, F. King Alexander, who was presiding over his final commencement ceremonies.
The 49ers had 74 Bachelor's Degree candidates for the 2013 school year (spring, summer and winter) and two Master's Degree candidates, representing all of the sports in which the 49ers compete in. Each student-athlete walking during graduation wore a special medallion in honor of their athletic and academic achievement.

Director of Athletics Vic Cegles also hosted a dinner for graduating athletes prior to commencement to thank them for representing Long Beach State in the classroom and in competition during their time at LBSU.
