
LBSU Completes Day One of Bandon Dunes Championship

BANDON, Ore. - After one round of play at the Bandon Dunes Championship, the Long Beach State men's golf team is currently in 15th place.
LBSU recorded an 18-hole score of 19-over 307 on the par-72, 6,859 yard Old Macdonald Course, to finish three shots ahead of No. 3 Washington (+22) in 17th and one stroke behind tournament host Gonzaga (+18) in 14th.
Senior Raymond Ho and freshman Kevin Lee paced the 49ers with a 4-over 76 to tie for 42nd, while senior Philip Chian finished one shot behind with a 77 to tie for 54th.
Sophomore JJ Holen carded a 78 to tie for 66th and freshman Daniel Chian recorded a 79 to tie for 74th.
Harry Higgs of SMU and Troix Tonkham of Fresno State leads the field of 95 players by one shot over five players tied for third.
Oregon (+2) leads the field of 18 teams by one shot over Missouri-Kansas City and Colorado (+3) tied for second.
Second round play continues on Saturday morning with the 49ers teeing off at 8:45 a.m. from the No. 1 tee. LBSU will be paired with the Huskies and Washington State. Live play can be followed on Golfstat.com.
