USA Women's Volleyball advances to Gold Medal match

Long Beach, Calif. - With a 25-20, 25-22, 25-22 win over South Korea, the USA women's volleyball team advanced to the Gold Medal match for the second straight Olympiad. Former 49er Tayyiba Haneef-Park added two kills to help the Americans advance.
The Gold Medal match is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.PT on Saturday, August 11, one of the final events of the Olympics. The Americans will get a rematch from the 2008 Olympics, facing Brazil after they defeated Japan 25-18, 25-15, 25-18 in the other semifinal.
Four years ago, the Americans lost in four sets to Brazil in Beijing, falling 25-15, 18-25, 25-13, 25-21.
Former 49ers Danielle Scott-Arruda and Tayyiba Haneef-Park will be trying to win their first Olympic Gold Medals after capturing Silver.
