81 student-athletes graduate at LBSU

LONG BEACH, Calif. - It was the end of an era for 81 Long Beach State student athletes this week as they walked across the stage at graduation to collect their diplomas.
Sixty-three of the 81 were on the active roster of 49er teams during the 2011-12 competitive season, with the other 18 completing their degrees after exhausting their eligibility in recent years. Four former 49ers received their Master's degrees, including two women's basketball players, a women's tennis player and a women's soccer player. The Master's Candidates received their degrees in Sports Management, Educational Psychology, Early Childhood Education and Public Administration.
The 81 graduates are the most in the last four years at Long Beach State, and ran the total number during the four-year span to 306.
